Kyson Daniel Heilmann

Our baby boy is here!!! I am still at the hospital, didn't bring a cord to connect the camera to the computer, but I thought I would write about his birth. I'll post pics as soon as I get home.
Yesterday I had a dr.'s appointment at 9:15. Dan had class, so I had to take Maicee. She has been to the dr. with me a million times. For some reason, she decided to throw a fit. She was screaming at the top of her lungs the entire time we were there. She kept telling everyone to go away and kept telling me to leave. So when they took my blood pressure, it was a little high. I had my dr. strip my membranes, and was soon dilated to a 5 and started having contractions soon after. They took my blood pressure again at the end, and it was still high, so my dr. sent me over to the hospital for some labs. My wonderful sister-in-law Livvy came and picked Maicee up and had her most of the day. I guess I had the beginning stages of pre-eclamsia, (I thought it was just Maicee stress) so my dr. broke my water around 12:30. My contractions started picking up after that. Luckily I had the most wonderful doula ever, thanks Nancy, and she helped me manage my pain without meds. The nurses wanted me to have an epidural right at the beginning, but I wanted to see how long I could go without one. As they got more intense, I started to feel light headed and see spots. I almost passed out once. They finally checked me around 5:00 and I was at an 8. I wimped out and asked for an epidural. My nurse worked really fast, had me ready to receive my epidural in about 3 minutes, and I was already dialted to a 10 and the baby was crowning. They grabbed a random dr. out of the hall, she ran in threw gloves on, and Kyson was born 3 pushes later at 5:20. My dr. didn't even get to deliver him. He weighed in at 6 lbs. 10 oz. and is 20 inches long. And I have to say he is pretty cute. He is super mellow right now. And he likes to sleep, which Maicee never did. He is eating like a champ and I think I might actually get to nurse him! My blood pressure is still a little high, so I have to stay at the hospital until tomorrow. Maicee came last night to see him. She thinks he's pretty cute, but doesn't want to take him home.

Easter, finally

Maicee had a good Easter this year. We went to an Easter egg hunt in Parker on Saturday and it was freezing. Maicee got a couple of eggs, and that's all that matters. I love her Easter dress! I waited months for it to go on sale.

Sorry for the swollen face!

The rest of these pictures are just random/cute pictures of my big girl.

She really loves the movie Despicable Me, especially the ending. She loves to dance along with Gru.

She also likes The Little Mermaid. The other day she went to the silverware drawer, pulled out a fork, and said, "Oh, a dinglehopper!" She then proceeded to brush her hair with it the rest of the day.

I haven't gotten a video of this yet, but she also loves the movie Tangled and will make me either sit or lie on the couch for hours while she brushes my hair and sings the flower gleam and glow song. I try to do the same with her, but she can only sit still for like 10 seconds.

This last picture I just think she is adorable.

Oh, Idaho

Maicee and I took a quick trip to Idaho to visit family. I wanted to go at the end of May for my nephew Brayten's high school graduation, but Dan pointed out that I would be 36 weeks pregnant. So we hopped in the car with a friend who lives in Lakewood, but her family is from Rigby. We stayed there just over a week. Maicee loved playing with her cousin Preslee. She also loved the attention she got from cousins Jordyn and Brayten.

Jordyn and Maicee on the tramp.

We were able to go visit my friend Autumn and her adorable babies. Maicee was a little intimidated by Max at first, (who wouldn't be, he is so handsome!) but loved making him laugh.

I had to throw in this picture of Zoey because she is so gorgeous! Autumn, you have the most beautiful children!

We were able to see a lot of friends that we hadn't seen in a long time, but missed seeing some. There just wasn't enough time. Maybe next trip.

The weather was not as warm as we were used to, but Maicee took full advantage of the fenced in back yard, sandbox, swing set, and trampoline. The last couple of days we were there it was really cold. I was looking forward to coming home to 80 degree weather, but instead this is what we get to enjoy:

Yep, that's right, snow in the middle of May. It snowed all day yesterday and most of today. It's doing a good job melting right now. I hope it's all gone by tomorrow.

Stay tuned, I'm hoping to post pictures of Easter soon.

Prayers are needed!

About 2 weeks ago a girl I went to school with found out her 4 month old little boy has leukemia. Today he started his 6 month treatment. Below is a link to their blog. Please keep this little family in your thoughts and prayers! http://sadieandherboys.blogspot.com

Look what I can do!

Okay, so I've been able to do Maicee's hair this way for a while, but it never turns out how I want it to, or it looks sloppy. Even if I re-do it 3 or 4 times. Yesterday it turned out how I wanted it to on the first try for both sides. That was a big accomplishment for me.

Isn't she so pretty?

This is a picture of her angry face.

And her surprised face (I think she was tired of doing the surprise face).

And this is a picture of where Daisey sleeps when Maicee is napping. Daisey pretends that Maicee drives her crazy, but she lays here on the stairs waiting for Maicee to wake up every day. And every night. They really are best friends. (Maicee's room is just at the top of the stairs).

Halloween, the first snow fall, etc.

These posts may be out of order, sorry for that, but at least I'm putting them up!

This is Maicee and her pumpkin.

Maicee was a lady bug this year for Halloween. She loved it! She still keeps telling us, "Happy Halloween!", then holds out her hands for candy.

Maicee and her cousins. From left to right: Jordan, Justin, Maicee, Jace, and Kerrigan.

Maicee loves the snow! Every time she notices it snowing, she goes to the window and sings "Once there was a snowman", then runs to find her snow boots.

This is Maicee and her friend Ava. Ava is a couple of months older than Maicee and she's in our ward!

And I just love this picture of Maicee.

Maicee's 2nd birthday and some Christmas

I'm finally getting around to some picture posts! Here are just a few pictures of Maicee's birthday and her pink "futterfly" cake. We didn't take many pictures at Christmas because we had the video camera rolling. Oh, and I had to throw in a sick picture of me, since Dan was kind enough to take it.

Maicee got some "big girl" underwear for her birthday; I think she is putting them on in this picture.

This is a random picture of my jumping monkey.

We had a pretty good Christmas this year, Maicee is so spoiled.
